My SBS 2008 server thinks it's running on battery. It has something to do
with the UPS monitoring software.

Anyhow, Windows Update tried to install Service Pack 2 and failed with code
800F0829, computer is running on battery. I figured out how to convince the
computer it's not on battery (in Device Manager, disable Batteries\HID UPS
Battery). I re-ran Windows Update and it failed with code 800F0286. The
previous failed installation is in the update history and blocking any
further updates.

How do I get that failed update out of the list??

Please do not post a link to the windowshelp.microsoft.com article on this
error; that does not give any useful hints on how to fix it. Please do not
refer me to any links in the update history window; they do not have any
reference at all to this problem. Please do not refer me to Microsoft's
"free" email support for Windows Update; I have no interest in ponying up
$210 in the hope that maybe Microsoft will give it back.

I would appreciate an explanation of how to get that update out of the list,
or a link to an explanation of how to get the update out of the list. Thank
you.
