Error 80242006 when trying to download XP SP 2

It seems not possible to download SP2 for WinXP using Windows Update. I had
literally tried all - and still gets the error code above.

I get the same error code every night Microsoft tries to download by the
Automatic Updating process but invariably the same error code appears. When I
attempted to download from the system manually , I received te following
failure message "cannot read or write to the data base"
Many of the queries revolve around the Danish Version version mine is the
English Version. I have also tried to install SP2 using a disc provided by
Microsoft and I get exactly the same results.
I have no trouble to download any other program either from the PC
manufacurer or Microsoft or otherwise.
has anyone found a solution to this problem.
