Error 80244001 win xp update

I would like to thank David for his fix,[ MSXML3.dll].
have wasted hours trying to figure that out after failure of updates following
install of SP2. Well done Sir.

Could you send the dll if that fixes the problem or describe the fix? I am
getting the same error and can't find a way to fix it.

From the Windows Update site
click on Help and support
click on Try the windows update shooter
enter 80244001
....
