Error 80246005 when downloading updates

I tried to download 3 updates. It just says failed with the above number and
asks that I post a message in a newsgroup and or e-mail the Update Response
Center.

1) How do I download the 3 critical updates?
2) How can I select which updates I want? It seems as though the latest
update software FORCES you to download whatever critical updates are listed.
The older update software allowed you remove an update from the download list.

It's NOT an issue with my router or firewall. My firewall or router works
fine. If anything it's the latest version of the update software that
doesn't work.
