Error 80246005 - Update for Realtek USB 2.0 Card Reader

I put a USB into my laptop and it is not being recognised. I noticed there
was an update that failed from Realtek USB 2.0 Card Reader. Windows will not
allow this update without showing error 80246005.

I really hope someone can help.

I have just managed to solve my problem by following instructions from
another thread.

OF course I can, I followed instructions by someone else in the thread titled
"4 FAILED UPDATES - VISTA" But I have copied the info into this thread for
you:

Start here:

Windows Update Error 8024600
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...f92281033.mspx

If you receive Windows Update error 80246005 while checking for updates, it
usually means
either that you cannot save files to the Catroot2 folder or that the
Cryptographic Service
was not started or is not working properly.

If no joy, then start a free Windows Update support incident request:
