I dont know what else to do... I did everything.. but I cant connect my msn
messenger at all doesn't matter where or computer system with firewall or
not. Not even web messenger or windows messenger works. I tried at 10
diferent computers in 3 different citys in Brazil. In every computer I also
tried to connect different accounts and everyone connect just mine doesn't
work. But I CAN connect my hotmail and passport.com website with the same
account. Just the messenger doesn't work.. I went to so many forums with so
many ideas that fix hundreds of people but not mine. So I tried to contact
Microsoft.. and they send for this e-mail below (that could help a lot people
over here, but for me still not working I tried those instructions in 3
diferent computers. Connect other accounts but not mine):

Hi Kleber,

Thank you for contacting Windows Live Messenger Technical Support. My name
is Bethel, and I'll be glad to assist you with your concern.

Based on the information I received, I understand that you cannot log in
using Windows Live Messenger because you received an error code 81000306.

I understand the confusion and frustration that this issue has inflicted on
you, rest assured that I will do what I can to help you out.

Kleber, you may be experiencing this problem because you cannot visit a Web
page that uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protection or the computer network
or the firewall  does not allow access to the Messenger service. It also
affects if the Windows Live Messenger proxy settings are incorrect. To
resolve your concern, you may want to clear the proxy settings in Windows
Live Messenger and ask your network administrator or check your firewall if
Windows Live Messenger is on the allow list of your firewall. In addition, we
will need to check the security settings of Internet Explorer and reregister
the security .dll files that may be blocking Windows Live Messenger. I also
recommend that you try the additional steps that I would give to make sure
that we address every possible cause of the problem. I have provided
step-by-step instructions below to walk you through these processes. Please
follow them carefully, in the order they are listed.

1. Make sure that you are connected to the Internet. Start Internet
Explorer, and then try to visit the following Web sites:
http://www.microsoft.com
https://www.microsoft.com
If you cannot visit these sites, contact your Internet service provider
(ISP) for information about how to set up your Internet connection so that
you can visit both secure (https) and non-secure (http) sites.
After you verify that you can browse the Internet, go to the next step.

2. Clear the proxy settings in Windows Live Messenger:

a. Start Windows Live Messenger.
b. On the "Tools" menu, click "Options."
c. Click "Connection" in the left navigation pane.
d. Click "Advanced Settings" in the "Connection Settings" section.
e. Delete the content of the "SOCKS" field.
f. Click "OK" two times to save the settings.

3. If you are using a firewall, make sure that Windows Live Messenger is
allowed full access through the firewall. For information about how to
configure the most common firewalls to allow Windows Live Messenger to
function.
a. If you are using Windows Live Messenger go to
http://spaces.msn.com/messenger-supp...53F!3669.entry
and look for steps on how to enable Windows Live Messenger through the most
common firewalls.

4. If you are connected to the Internet from a corporate environment, ask
the network administrator if access to Windows Live Messenger is blocked.

5. If you are using a dial-up connection to connect to the Internet, you may
experience low connectivity speeds. Wait, and then try to connect later.

6. Check your Internet Explorer Security settings:
a. Open Internet Explorer.
b. On the "Tools" menu, click "Internet options."
c. On the "Advanced" tab, scroll down to the security section.
d. Make sure that "use SSL 2.0" and "use SSL 3.0" are both selected. Windows
Live Messenger requires these settings to validate your password and user
name.

7. Reregister the security .dll files:
a. Click Start, click Run, type CMD, and then click OK.
b. Type the following commands. Press ENTER after each command line.
Note After each command runs successfully, you receive a "DllRegisterServer
succeeded" message. Wait until you receive this message before you type the
next command.
- regsvr32 softpub.dll
- regsvr32 wintrust.dll
- regsvr32 initpki.dll
- regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
- regsvr32 mssip32.dll
- regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll
- regsvr32 dssenh.dll
- regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
- regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
- regsvr32 sccbase.dll

Kleber, I appreciate the opportunity to provide you support and hope to
receive this information from you so that we can provide you with a better
support experience. If you need further assistance, you may contact us at

Greetings,

What happens if you open a new Passport/Hotmail account and try signing in with a new one?

Hey, I have the exact same problem!!
I tried everything I oculd find and I'm quite an IT nerd to be
honest, but that one, no damn clue!!!
MSN works on my standalone machine, I can login using hotmail
accounts and stuff, but my yahoo account that I registered as a NET
PASSPORT doesn't work anymore since yesterday. I'm runnign out of
ideas and this is really sad.
It's the only account that doesn'twork, although I can login to net
passport and also to windows live. Justnot on any MSN, on not a
single coputer and on no web messengers either.

helpppp

Where can I send this file, attachements don't works here.. any email
please?

To me this looks like some user accounts are damaged somehow...
definitely you should stop working on any firewall/antivirus/user
issue, I bet it's not from our side... (just for the sake of it,
I've tried with no antivirus, no firewall, same issue)
The fact that login through web messengers even don't work makes me
think that. Also, I can login with other net passports with yahoo
adresses on my machine, it's just that one account, my main one
() which fails. I swear to God that yesterday I was
on msn like normal, and suddenly (without installing anything at all,
no update nothing) it quit and from then on I couldn't sign up back.
Perhaps there's a way to sort of reset such accounts where Microsoft
stores them (without removing the contacts and the details of course)?
I also loggued in many times to my net apassport and windows live
account to check if I could do anything there but seems not.
I have absolutely no other idea as to what to try...

Same thing happened to me with my Yahoo log in as well. I made a new hotmail
account and can get in to Messenger fine with that, just not with my original
Yahoo account that I've used with Messenger for years. Could it have
something to do with the new version "talking" to Yahoo Messenger?

Could question, but how can it then affect one account and not the
others? I won't change my main account that's for sure. Up to them to
find out the problem.
