Error after installing KB898461 "Error Performation Inpage Operati

Hello. I haven't found anyone else with this issue yet so please let me know
if this has been address. I updated Windows with the KB898461 update on June
28th when it was released. The installation seemed to go fine. However, the
next day when I started my computer up, I got to the welcome screen and
received the message "Error Performing Inpage Operation". Basically it said
that it could not load my default profile and was going to load a temporary
one. I tried rebooting numerous times and got the same message. I even
uninstalled the most recent update and no luck. Does anyone have any
suggestions as to how I can get my profile back?

I don't have this problem; I have a different one. I can no longer go
anyplace in IE by using links or the return key. Instead, I get "site not
found". Sometimes I can git the "go" button; generally, though, I have to
cut back to the main page and then hit the "go" button. I can then navigate,
but only with the "go" button.

I've tried emptying my cache and rebooting a few times -- nothing. Any ideas?
