Error after installing SP2

After SP2 was installed, my sound disappeared, my soundcard seems missing in
Computer Profile, and i get a"BEEP" during bootup, which also has slowed down
significantly.

It *may* related to an issue with the driver for the sound card. It can
also be related to other drivers. It can also be related to the presence
of malware on the system when SP2 was installed.
