Error after Windows Update XP SP3

Sorry about my last post.. thought it was the Norwegian groups. I have
recently updated HP dx2250 to XP SP3 and Windows Update will not work.
Checked the services and BITS as per Microsoft and other peoples
recommendations but the service 'Automatic Updates' is disabled and cannot be
enabled it just reverts back to disabled each time i enable it and try to
start it .. error code is 0x80070422 .. have now uninstalled SP3 but its
still there..
