Error when attempting to enable "Turn discovery on"

Yesterday I allowed an unpdate from Microsoft Update called, "IVT Corporation
- Other Hardware - Bluetooth Wireless Hub" along with a couple other updates.
Now I my dell wireless keyboard won't connect and I cannot enable the
checkbox to "Turn discovery on". I get an error message that says,

"An error occurred while Windows was saving your settings. The following
settings were not saved:

Discoverability settings
Connection settings"

It sounds like the file or place used to save the settings is locked or
corrupted. Does anyone know where the settings are saved?

Also, how can I uninstall an update?

Thanks.

The update should be in your program list when you go to control
panel>add/remove programs. Just remove/change it there and it should
uninstall.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately there is no listing that I can find. The
software must have been a driver of some sort because it screwed up my
Bluetooth Wireless keyboard and Motorola PhoneTools. Neither worked after the
installation. Any other ideas are appreciated. I spend 2.5 hours on the phone
with Dell and still can't resolve the problem.

Did you install a driver? I think the search expression you need (at least in XP)
is "roll back". (E.g. press Win-F1 and enter that in the search box.)

Hmm... looks like you need to get into Device Manager's Help instead.
E.g. press Win-Break, click on Hardware tab, Device Manager button
then press F1, search for "roll back" and choose an item...

BTW this issue probably would be better handled by a newsgroup
which specializes in hardware for your OS. If you had disclosed your OS
I would have cross-posted my reply there.

Good luck
