I have looked around on the internet to try and find an answer for this
problem. I have checked to make sure the master files are not compressed. I
have tried to restart the service through the services page. I have also
changed the user from Network Services to Local System Account. So far none
has worked. Besides having SQLExpress Installed, I also have SQL Developers
Edition 2005 and SQL 2000 installed. I have also tried to update SQL
Developers Edition 2005 update
(Update for SQL Server 2005 (KB 932557)) and I am getting the same error.
Below is my summary log. If it is helpful, I can also post the hot fix log.
Any help that you can give would be greatly appreciated. Instead of
installing the update, can I just reinstall SQL Express with service pack 2
over my installation and that solve the problem?
