error code 0x8004210B

I have been trying to fix this error in Microsoft Office Outlook. If anyone
can PLEASE help me get the right update I would be so appreciative. I
haven't been able to send email in about a month now. i am not that smart
when it comes to fixing this stuff. I hope someone can tell me how to fix
it. The error code is 0x8004210B - it says that the operation timed out
waiting for a response from the sending (STMP)server. If you continue to
receive this message, contact your server administrator or ISP. ------- I
have done tech support w/ these and they tell me that there is an update some
where on Microsoft. I can't find it. i don't technically know what the heck
I am looking for.

Are you accessing the correct smtp server (e.g., smtp.[name].com)?
Any email security apps (McAfee, CA, Norton, ...)?

Look for the Outlook NG on this site and post there, they may be able to assist

I have Norton the smtp is correct according to my ISP
