Error code 0x8007045D

I have had to reformat my computer. In the process of running all the
updates, I cannot install the SP3. I keep getting the error code 0x8007045D.
Any other updates that try to install receive the same error code also. I
have googled this error code and have searched for it on the windows website,
but I can only find information on the error code ending in A. Does anyone
know how to fix this error code? Since I cannot install it, my computer is
automatically trying to download & install all my updates for me
automatically. I guess I can always shut that feature off until I can
resolve this issue.

0x8007045D The request could not be performed because of an I/O device
error. ERROR_IO_DEVICE

I suggest to check the Device Manager for any yellow or red markings.
