error code 0x8007F0F4 when trying to install post-sp3 xp updates

I succesfully installed windows xp sp3. When I searched for further updates,
I found 27 further essential updates with microsoft update, and 8 optional
ones. When I tried to install them after downloading, I got a message the
installation failed for all 35 updates.
Few minutes later, I've got a yellow shield on the low-left corner of my
desktop telling me there is an update for IE available, together with some
kind of security update. I clicked the shield, but again a failure. Then I
googled that same update and installed it manually with succes. Further
updates via microsoft update seem to be impossible. This is one of the
updates I tried to perform, without succes:
KB953838: Cumulatieve beveiligingsupdate voor Internet Explorer 6 voor
Windows XP
and this is the error code I've got: 0x8007F0F4
I'd be gratefull for any help, thanks in advance.

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you perform a new Windows XP
installation or you repair a Windows XP installation

NB: Ignore the titles, if necessary; also applies to Upgrade installs, and
Recovery installs.

I have same problem with KB953838 failed to install and the above
information did not help, because windows update tried to install this update
for windows Internet Explorer 6 After the update of Internet explorer 7. The
Above information link did however solved the problem of failed download and
installation of KB938127 for Internet Explorer 7, it is:

I got the same problem but only with KB953838: Cumulative security update
for Internet Explorer 6 and same error code 0x8007F0F4 after updating to
Windows XP3 and Windows Internet Explorer 7. Say, are you Dutch that you get
the dutch version? See my other post and link for solving other update
problems.
