error code 0x8020000E in windows update

I have tried to install the "Security Update for Windows 2000 (KB901214)" on
win2k but update failed.
It looks like it is failing while downloading. But I did install few more
updates today with no problems. Any suggestions?

Cynthia,

Try downloading the update from here if you're running Win 2K SP4 :
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Save it to the Hard Drive. Close Internet Explorer.
Temporarily disable the installed antivirus program.
Install KB901214.
Restart the system.

REMEMBER to reenable the antivirus program after rebooting.

If the update still fails to install, open the KB901214.log located in
the WINDOWS directory (folder). Copy and paste it into your reply.

Is the installed antivirus program a Symantec(Norton) product ?
