Error Code: 0x87FF054F

When I attempt to install Service Pack 2, about 1/3 of the way through I
am given a message stating "an internal error occured" and then "service
pack 2 was not installed."

What should I do, I have yet to find any solution over the web. I've
downloaded the update both through Windows Update and by downloading it
to my hard drive.

What SP2 are you trying to install? That from Windows Update?
