Error code 0x8DDD0009 (during update)

While running the check for updates nothing happens for 20 mins. then I
finally
get the error code 0x8DDD0009.
I have been in touch with Microsoft support for the past 2 weeks and they
don't seem to be any help.
I've changed the name of my CatRoot2 file to OldCatroot2, sent a copy of
my Windows Update.log, and a screen shot showing the update page with the
error.
Still the tech I was in touch with wasn't much help. I hope someone here
will be more of a help. Thanks. Bob

I received the same error code when doing a windows update on 4 identical
servers. I had installed Windows Server 2003 Standard with a slipstreamed SP1
and wanted to do a windows update. 2 of the servers performed the update
without any errors, but the other 2 failed (with another error code). I then
manually installed the Windows Update Agent 2.0 on the 2 servers and ran
windows update again. This time only 1 of the servers failed and the other
went through the update process ok. It's a bit confusing because the hardware
setup is exactly identical as well as the OS installation.
