error code 0xC004F033 please help

i get this message when i try to change product key.

'If you receive this error code, verify that the product key can be used to
upgrade Windows Vista from the current edition to the edition for which the
key is intended.' this is the advice on the website but i dont know how to do
this.

any advice for fixing the proble,?
