error code 1635 after latest update

Had windows installer probs with error code 1635 after a recent update. had
to resor to system restore point to get pc working again. pc worked fine
until the updates ran again. now i have the same error code message with
windows installer. used the windows installer clean up utility but did not
rectify the problem.

Latest installation include : KB908531 /KB911562/KB912812/KB911565/KB911567

has anyone else suffered this, and any ideas on how to resolve it.?
