Error Code: 80080008 in SP2

I've been getting this error for about a month now while trying to recieve a
few windows updates. This is in Windows XP Pro with SP2. When I use the
automatic updater, it goes to installation, then fails automatically. These
are the updates it's trying to get:

Security Update for Windows XP (KB873339)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB873333)
Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1

When I bring up the installation history all three of these updates failed
due to error code 80080008, which I can't seem to find anywhere. I've tried
rebooting, still fails the same.

Nope, I found that post already on it, that deals with the error code if
you're trying to install SP2. I already have SP2 installed and am getting
that error on the security updates above. I also don't have a Prescott or any
of the other things stated in that article that can cause this error.

After a reboot I was able to install the " Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1"
update by not touching anything after the boot and going straight to Windows
Update, but the other two security updates still failed with the same error.
