Error code: 8100030d faild because service is temporarily unavaila

Hi all,
Since Monday 17 March 2008 and being forced to upgrade to
Version 2008 (Build 8.5.1302.1018) of
Windows Live Messenger, by the prompt "there is a newer version
of Windows Live Messenger" I a get the following message:

Signing in to Windows Live Messenger failed because the service is temporarily
unavailable. Please try again later.

Error code: 8100030d

But I can log in using Webmessenger

http://webmessenger.msn.com/

And the strangest this is a friend who has Pidgin messenger
allowed me to use it and I was able to login!
What is going on?!

Surely, I am not the only one with this problem.
