I got the Blue Screen of Deathe and this msg while trying to turn on prntr
after clicking on print.

'bugcode_usb_driver' error 0x000000FE(0x0000002,
0x81CE1008, 0x81A6E400, 0x81DA1BE8)

Then I was directed, upon re-boot, to a page that directed me to UPDATES,
which didn't work. Got an error msg from this site to: " The website has
encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. The
options provided below might help you solve the problem".

This is all greek to me. What can't it be written in simple language that
the normal person can understand.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks in Advance for the Help!

Please state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista SP1) when
posting to this newsgroup.

Did you recently install a (printer) driver update offered by Windows
Update?

Have you tried doing a driver rollback?

I'm running Win XP Sp2 (all up to date)

No recently update of printer driver.

Tried the driver rollback, using the Dell software that came with the laptop.

Thanks!

Uninstall your printer | Reboot | Reinstall your printer.

If no joy, your USB slot(s) may be broken.

I've done that before when this has happened.
The Prntr goes along ok for awhile and then it
happens again.

How to I troubleshoot or replace the usb ports?

Would it be possible that they aren't all the same ?
i.e, 1.0 and 2.0

Thanks!

YW. I'd recommend that you take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA or Geek Squad) computer repair shop,
Nancy.

OK....Thanks !
I think it would be cheaper just to replace it. Guess I'll start looking
at a Lazar one, cheaper to use. Maybe I can luck out and get a
good deal on one at Circuit City.
