Error code from Sec Upd KB888302

Related to post WinXP Pro repair-install. Security update installation
failed. The reported error code was 0x80080008; MS's techsupport self help
does not contain a relevant entry...there was 0x80070002 and ---70003, that
was the closest match. What is the definition of errcod 0x80080008? and
what may be its solutions?

In the meantime, see if the update can be installed manually.
Go here, download and SAVE WindowsXP-KB888302-x86-ENU.exe
When the download is finished close the browser and any other open programs
Now install WindowsXP-KB888302-x86-ENU.exe
