Error codes with no help from Microsoft

It seems that there are quite a few people getting error codes when trying to
update their Windows version. It sure has happened to me, I'm getting the
"Error(s) found: Code 8e5e0147". However, when I'm trying to see the reason
for this error code by searching any Microsoft site (including the search
done by following the "Get Help"-link on the Windows update window) I get no
matches.

Clearly, someone knows what this error code means, it's not like my program
crashed inexplicitly, but why isn't there any solution or comment on any
Microsoft site? I have had this error for roughly a month by now and I am
getting really tired of seeing no solution being offered by Microsoft.

You problably have some more usefull errors in your windowsupdat.log (in
the windows directory).
Can you check and post back some of the error codes that you see?

Try this tool I just published. It works for 90% of problems. I have been
using it (and updating it) for a long time, but just recently modified it
so that it could be posted publically.

You are right, and so does Google, but if you look in these discussions have
you managed to find a solution? I did the search for "error code 8e5e0147" in
Google, I get 13 answers (and my original post has the number 1 spot,
normally a good thing in a google search, bur not perhaps in this case), none
particulary helpful. Most (all?) is basically a call for help.

When is it likely that those at a "higher level" will have finished? This
error code has been driving me crazy and since it started appearing my puter
has become unstable and slow so your fix being put back up would be
appreciated.
