Error Erasing DVD-RW in My Computer

Using Vista and tried to erase DVD-RW using "Erase this disc button" in My
Computer. Erase Wizard hung and failed to erase. I tried to end task in Task
manager and chose the option to restart program. It restarted Windows
Explorer and the disc struggeld to eject from the machine.

Any ideas why this happens?

Could be a bad disk or bad drive?

Can you try erasing it with Nero or some third party program?

If it froze/crashed, check the Windows Event Log, which may contain detail
of the incident

Thanks
Erased it on different pc using Roxio.
Will have to try again in Vista machine with another disc to see if disc
drive and will check Event log - do you know how I would find this in Vista?
