error found code 800727f8f - can't update

hi,
i cant adjust the time, but it is accurate. i tried a few things below, but
apparently i dont have admisinstrative rights to do certian things. getting
frustrated as i have tried many options. help

When searching for available updates on the Update site, you see the 0x80072F8F error
while looking for available updates
http://update.microsoft.com/windowsu...=en&IsMu=False

Also turn on automatic updating of trusted root authority certificates
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d....mspx?mfr=true

1. In Control Panel, open Add or Remove Programs
2. Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
3. Select the Update Root Certificates check box.
4. Click Next, and then click Finish.

Note
.. To open Add/Remove Windows Components, click Start, click Control Panel, click Add or
Remove Programs, and then click Add/Remove Windows Components.


Please log on as an Administrator or have the Administrator log on to make the adjustments
you are unable to.
