Error Installing Mircosoft.net update - Error Code: 80131700

I was able to install this update on my laptop without any problem; however,
my PC will not allow it (xp Pro on both) What do I need to do? Thanx, Rick

I have run into the same thing on my systems. On my
Windows SBS 2003 system, I discovered that the SQL update
had messed with my Windows Installer registration,
causing that system to not install anything after the SQL
update. I had to "MSIEXE.EXE /regserver" from the
System32 directory to fix that problem. Thinking that the
same problem may exist on my Windows XP Pro Desktop, I
tried that fix there, but still have the same .NET
Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 install problem there.
Posting a general fix message would be appreciated.
