Error installing update roll up 2

I had crash XPMC and I reinstalled it using repair option.

Now I can't install Roll up 2. I have not been able to find any reason why.
The cryptic messages just says update failed. Any one can help my try to
figure out the problem would appreciate.

Me too! I get error code 0x643, ... Please try again (I did, and it still
fails with the same code)

I tried four times with same error code 0x643. Isn't it funny that MS can't
put clear message of what is wrong but just this cryptic codes. Hope that
someone from MS is reading this and respond to the problem.

I am having the same problem. Have successfully downloaded the roll up 2
update, but it will not install. Have tried for hours to solve the problem.
Any solution would be much appreciated.

I had a long discussion with Microsoft update support. We finally found that
the problem is caused by the .net hotfix being installed automatically after
the system is rebooted following a recovery. The same hotfix is included in
the mediacenter rollup2. The rollup2 install fails because the hotfix will
not reinstall over its self. I located the download files, and copied them
to CD. Then, following the recovery, I prevented the automatic update, and
installed the fix's in the following order:
KB898461, KB892130, KB873369 (from my CD), KB9003325 (from my CD), then
restart, and then enable Microsoft update and install the other 100 +/-
applicable updates. The Microsoft update support agent indicated that Meda
canter rollup2 , KB9003325 will not be reissued!
