error loading sp2 - i had it before

i just reinstalled all my software using the recovery disc. I did automatic
updates. it keeps telling to install sp2. I get the following error
0x800703e7. i need help rightaway. before i did the recovery i had loaded
office prof plus 2007.

0x800703e7 ERROR_SWAPERROR is usually an indication of an issue with the
Hard Drive.
Suggest you use chkdsk if no 3rd party disk management/diagnosis
software is installed: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265


Is this XP with *no* Service Packs installed as of yet ?

Why did you do a Recovery install?

Are you now running WinXP or WinXP SP1?
