I've just got a new machine running server 2003 and get this error message
when I try to run windows update.

I've tried applying the fix in KB843499 (registering dlls) - that had no
effect. The trusted websites seem to be there. The software firewall is off
and there is no virus software running. There is a hardware firewall (that
isn't a problem with other pc's running either W2K or WinXPPro as winupdate
works fine with them).

I'm running out of ideas - can SKS help out

TIA

Rob

Try a search?

First hit links to

which elaborates on the set of .dlls to re-register (among other things).

In addition, on XP at least, it appears that

regsvr32 /i initpki.dll

might do more of whatever re-registering that one does
