Error message: 80070103

Trying to install new 20X External Super Multi DVD Rewriter (LG brand if it
makes any differnce) GE20LU10 USB Device
Error for device ? "nVidia - Network - NVIDIA nForce Networking controller "

Device status states:
Windows cannot start this hardware device because its confirguration
information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. Have taken back to
shop to get new one - seen it all sucessfully installed in front of me.

CAN ANYBODY HELP ME OUT PLEASE BEFORE I PULL ALL MY HAIR OUT.
Have taken screen dumps of all errors etc. As you can tell im new to this!
