Hi.
I am unable to get the later version of Windows Live Messenger to work. When
I click on the icon the message I get is : The Application failed to
initialize properly (0xe06d7363). Click on OK to terminate the application.

It was working fine. The only thing I can think of is that I have recently
loaded the software for my BT Home Hub, when I was using a BT Voyager Router
previously. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all to no effect. The
only thing that did work was when I downloaded a beta version of
Messenger.....that opened fine the first time and now nothing again...with
the same error message.

I have tried doing searches for the error message and again come up against
a brick wall. I have also had a look on this forum, but found nothing.

Does anyone know of anything..???

Thanx.

Can't think of anything obvious off hand except to go back to a restore
point where it worked, and then gradually reapply any upgrades you need to
see if the problem reoccurs...

I am also seeing this message - interestingly I have also recently upgraded
to a BT Home Hub from BT Voyager; however this has only happened on one of my
PCs and they have all been similarly upgraded.

The restore point thingy is no doubt useful if you happen to know what
upgrades need to be applied, and is probably going to take rather a long time
to figure out.

It would be useful to understand why Live Messenger outputs this error. As
Richard says, it seems inordinately difficult to find any useful info about
this error in this context.
