Greetings,
When playing downloaded mp3 files in the Media Player 9
library, some (every other one) of the mp3 files are
skipped over without being played, and the next file in
succession is played instead. The skipped over mp3 file
is then highlighted with orange letters, and with an
exclamation mark (!) to the left of it, and when the
curser is placed over the unplayed mp3, an error message
pops up stating the following:
"A necessary WM SDK interface to complete the
operation doesn't exist at this time"
Although the skipped over song didn't que up
automatically and play, if I manually select the skipped
over mp3 file to play, it will play just fine.
Another peculararity is that just before mp3 file is
skipped over, and before the previous mp3 that just got
thru played is completely released, the computer is
completely locked up for a few momemts, until the next
file is finally skipped over and the next song plays.
I have uninstalled Media Player 9, and reinstalled it,
moved my media files to a different folder and still the
problem exist.
I called Microsoft about the problem, and didn't receive
any help. I was told that the media files might be
corrupt. I then played the files with WinAmp - they
played fine, with no files being skipped over and without
my computer being locked up!
Are there any registry settings that need tweaked??
Answers anyone? Thank you.
Keith
