Hi,
My friend's Sony VAIO displays the following error message pop-up when
trying to start the webcam:

Pop-up title: ArcSoft WebCam Companion: uWebCam.exe - Bad Image
Pop-up text: C:\Windows\system32\ksproxy.ax is either not designed to run on
Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the
original installation media or contact your system administrator or the
software vendor for support.

Needless to say, the webcam doesn't come up. I've been searching the web for
a similar problem but mine seems to be unique.

Would appreciate any help/insights with this problem.

thanks!

Your friend should do exactly as the error message says: uninstall/reinstall
the ArcSoft WebCam Companion software first and if that doesn't work,
contact Sony tech support because the program came preinstalled on the
Vaio.

To get the software, your friend should look on Sony's tech support site for
his/her specific model machine and download the latest version of
drivers/software for the webcam.
