Error Message is shown when I log on on Windows Live Messeger 8.5/

The following log is shown when I log on:

Windows Live Messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience.

Does anyone knows the soluttion to the problem? I tryed to log in at the
Windows Messeger, and it worked out, but it's not the same thing. So, please,
if anyone can help me, reply!

I was having the same error, plus random crashing in IE, and it turned out to
be a virus (that my virus scanner didn't catch).

This was the virus: http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_142500.htm

I disabled the service (NtmlSvc), deleted the files and registry entries,
rebooted, and now I'm back in business.
