error message on startup screen

i keep getting the following message whenever i startup my computer
(microsoft windows xp)
unable to locate system.dll component
this is in a box with update.exe in the heading,my comp seems to work fine
but this message is really annoying how do i get rid of it?

It could be some malwares that invaded your computer. Perform anti-virus and
anti-spywares scans. Also see this link:
