Error Message VXD VWIN32(05)

Hopefully someone can help me. I have spent literally HOURS trying to find
answers to problems I'm having. When shutting down Win98 I receive the error
message VDX VWIN32(05). It seems to have started occurring when I have been
updating Win98 with critical updates. I have been trying to update critical
update KB867801. I have updated this one at least two times, not receiving
any message that it didn't install. When I go back to see if there are
anymore updates, this one keeps coming up to download again. After
installing critical updates I am having so many problems now with my
computer, freezing up, things not showing up on web pages, etc. I hope
someone can please help me.
