Error Message: Warning - out of scan range

I went to windows update and downloaded quite a few updates. When I
restarted my computer, it hung with a blue screen with the warning message:
out of scan range. I had to manually turn off the computer and finally had
to do a restore to previous date to get computer up again. Thanks for any
help.

Melynda;
That has to do with your video settings.
Was one of the updates a video driver.
Generally you should get hardware drivers directly from the manufacturers.

Install all Critical Updates.
Install the Recommended Updates you determine are beneficial to you.
