Error Messages 0x80244018 & 0x80244019

For 4 months now, I have been trying to somehow get automatic updates
activated, to no avail. I have loaded all the .dlls suggested by the
troubleshooter, updated the proxy settings, and been able to download the
SP2. But thereafter, no other critical/security updates can be downloaded,
and the error messages alternate between the abovementioned two. The online
documentation and support centre also has no material on the subject messages.

Can anyone throw light on this?

“I ran proxycfg anm it showed I was still setup for a proxy - even though in IE it
showed I wasn't using one.
Running "proxycfg -d" fixed it all up.�

You cannot download updates when you access the Windows Update Web site from a
Windows XP-based computer that is behind a firewall or a proxy server

Yes! This was the answer to my 0x80244017 problem on Windows Server 2003!
Thank You!!!! It was retaining old proxy settings -- start, run, cmd,
"proxycfg -d" -- did the trick for me. Awesome guys, thanks for your help!!!
