Ok first i get this message when trying to do updates----Files required to
use Windows Update are no longer registered or installed on your computer. To
continue:
Register or reinstall the files for me now (Recommended)
Let me read about more steps that might be required to solve the problem

Then when i click the circle to register or reinstall the files for me
now.....it goes like its doing it then i Get this error------[Error number:
0x8024D007]
The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are
trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem.

Can someone help me figure out what to do to solve this problem.

Try a search?

You're posting from the web interface so use its search tool.
E.g. press Alt-7 to set keyboard focus in the search input box,
type your error code 0x8024D007 and then press Enter.

In fact, there are so many hits that it's worthwhile trying the filters
to see less of them. There were no hits using the Answered questions
filter but there were some with the Threads with helpful posts filter
(in spite of inane voting for the initial questioning posts.)

For example, you could find this one that way:

I also had this problem and although I haven't been able to solve it I did
try clicking on the "Use administrator options" on the left of the Windows
Update page. It allowed me to select updates to install.
