Error msg when trying to instal wlm 2008 or 2009

any one could tell me what can i do ro solve this error msg :-

Window live installer
there was a problem with this installation window live suit was not installed
system error details
code 0x8000ffff
Description: catastrophic failure

Greetings Allure,

As a starting point, you should verify that the Windows Live Essentials has been removed from
Add or Remove Programs or Programs and Features. If you've already done that, you can just
do a manual install.

To manually install 8.5, download and run the following Microsoft Installer file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/redir/wlm85.asp

For 2009, there are several components you have to install, which are listed here on my blog:
