Error mzg 0x8024402C

When attempting to update Win XP Pro I received an error
message (rather vague) that it couldn't be completed and
listed several options to troubleshoot. When I search
for the exact error msg, I get returned no matches.

Can someone point me to a place where I can search for
the error messages to read what the problem is? Or even
better, does anyone know what the subject error message
is related to?

hey. I get the same message. i was talking to someone and they said that they
are currently putting stuff up and the xp sp2 will be coming out very soon.

Sam, if you Google 0x8024402C you will find 2 sites; one from the ZoneAlarm
forums and the other www.talkaboutsoftware.com.

0x8024402c is:

WU_E_PT_WINHTTP_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED
Winhttp SendRequest/ReceiveResponse failed with 0x2ee7 error.
Either the proxy server or target server name can not be resolved.
Corresponding to ERROR_WINHTTP_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED. Stop/Restart
service or reboot the machine if you see this error frequently.


To me, it looks like your computer doesn't find
https://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com for some reason.
