Error Number: 0x8004B039

This morning the MS Windows Update page could not be displayed in my
PC's(2). I tried both "Express" and "custom" and got an error number
0x8004B039. Nothing comes up when searching google and MS database for
this error number. Please help!!

Look at your log file for Windows Update.

Please post an *extract* from it.
Use Notepad or Wordpad and open & look at the Windows Update log file
C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log or C:\WINNT\WindowsUpdate.log

Scroll down all the way. Get / copy / paste (ideally, put into a file & attach in repy ) back here the set of lines for (today's ) the last session.

You should see your error code in there. See what that error's text says.

And post back with the edition / version (& service pack ) of Windows. This will help later on if specific o.s. advice is called for.

Thank you for your reply!

The attached file updatelog.txt comes from the last session of the
Windowsupdate.log. I could not interpret this log for the error, please
help! BTW my OS is WinXP Pro SP2 without proxy setting.

There's another exception that was listed before this error. It is SyncUpdates failure, error = 0x8024400D

Try the steps suggested in the following link, which is at a Google archive of a posting here by Snakeman.

Then retry Windows Update again.
