When attempting updating Windows XP prof. SP2 I get:

"The website has encountered a problem and
cannot display the page you are trying to view."
Error number: 0x8007000B

Tried many things without success.

Any who have a clue to a solution ?

many thanx in advance:

”Courtesty: Harish.G
The error 0x800B0003 occurs in your Windows Update.log due to mismatch in digital signature. This
issue can be fixed by enabling "use http 1.1 through proxy connections" in Internet Options.

To enable "use http 1.1 through proxy connections"

1. After Opening Internet Explorer click Tools / Internet Options.
2. Click the Advanced Tab.
3. Remove the check from use HTTP 1.1
4. Place a check in Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections.
5. Attempt to access the Windows Update site again.
6. If you are still experiencing difficulties with the update site, try
having both HTTP 1.1 and HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections checked.”

Hi Bhikkhu,

Since you have SP2 installed, open IE and go to Tools>Manage Add-ons and
ensure that WUWebControl Class (if using Windows Update) or MUWebControl
class (if using Microsoft Update) is listed and enabled.

Regards,

MUWebControl is listed & enabled under show:
"Add-ons that have been used by IE" but not under:
"Add-ons currently loaded in IE"

Have tried all that twice without effect. Have also reinstalled IE.
IE still seem corrupt insofar it cannot e.g. "view source" so one
cannot see/check any html code with it...
