Hello Marathon,

Dial-a- Fix

http://wiki.djlizard.net/Dial-a-fix

Run this program with all the functions activated

--it may look as if the scan has frozen. DAF is actually doing lots of
shoveling and shuffling, so don't interrupt it.

Scroll down about 2/3 of the way to Download Dial-a-fix

Good luck

Thanks Engel.

Downloaded and ran this interesting program but it halts at an "access
violation at address 77C01550D in module version.dll. Read of address
0000004"

any other thoughts?

Woooaaaoo this is the first time I see that message. Probably you are running
Vista, Right ?

I'm sorry I don't have any better advice to offer.

Maybe someone else can conjure up something else to try.

Good luck

Hi;

First guess would be that you are getting bad downloads; or that the
storage/RAM on your system is behaving badly.

Suggest cleaning up the system (clearing out all the Temp/Tmp folders,
clearing the browser TIF, doing a Disk CleanUp, defragging, etc.) and then
running a complete diagnostic on your system to include a RAM test.

Then download something that has a known CRC value, then verify that what
you get on your system passes that test. If you don't know of one handy,
this website has an example and the downloads to make a check. If your
system fails the check, then perhaps it is time to take it into a shop where
a full suite of tests can be run on it.

<cmd_output>

The specified resource type cannot be found in the image file.
</cmd_output>

So it sounds like you have a image file (whatever that is)
with some resource types in it but this update couldn't find one it wanted in it.

Perhaps you have the wrong version of the update (whatever that is)
for the product you are updating (whatever that is)?

(Etc.)
