"Error number: 0x800A0046", tried everything suggested and still nothing works.

I keep on getting the "Error number: 0x800A0046" message when trying to go
to WindowsUpdate.Com (version 5). I have SP2 installed and I followed and
completed all the suggestions that the TroubleShooter gave me. Still no
joy. Can anyone make any suggestions? Please!

Hey, thanks for the speedy reply Checked and nope I don't have that key
at all? What's er for? Any thing else please!!

I think that I got it to work. I kept on searching in the Google groups and
came up with changing the following two items: BITS and wauaserv. I went to
a command prompt and typed in the following:
1. sc sdset wuausrv
DA;;CCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRRC;;;SY)(A;;CCDCLCSWRPWPDTLO CRSDRCWDWO;;;BA)(A;;CCLCSWLOCRRC;;;AU)(A;;CCLCSWRP WPDTLOCRRC;;;PU)
2. sc sdset bits
DA;;CCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRRC;;;SY)(A;;CCDCLCSWRPWPDTLO CRSDRCWDWO;;;BA)(A;;CCLCSWLOCRRC;;;AU)(A;;CCLCSWRP WPDTLOCRRC;;;PU)
Now when I run the V5 WindowsUpdate it runs good. Coincidentally there are
no updates to download but the fact that it works makes me feel a little
