Error number: 0x800B0100

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue when attempting to access
available updates. Below is a copy and paste of error message.

Windows Update Newsgroup
For assisted support options:

Microsoft Online Assisted Support (no-cost for Windows Update issues)

- Right-click on My Computer and select Manage.
- Expand th "Services and Applications" section.
- Click on Services.
- Make sure the following services are started:
* Automatic Updates
* Background Intelligent Transfer Service
* Cryptographic Service
* Remote Procedure Call
* System Restore Service

If these are all started:

- Open Windows Explorer.
- Navigate to C:\Windows\System32.
- If you see a folder called CATROOT2, rename it to something different
(like "CATROOTOLD").

Try running Windows Update again.

1. Try:-
Click Start, select Run, now type in:
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
Press Okay

and/or

2. Try:
Click Start, select Run, now type in:
CMD
(Note this opens the command prompt windows)

Now type in the following (noting to press Enter after each line)

net stop cryptsvc
ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 oldcatroot2
net start cryptsvc
