Error Number: 0x800CCC15

I see that other people get this same error(s) while processing Windows Mail:

Account: 'Sam RR', Server: 'pop-server.roadrunner.com', Protocol: POP3,
Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC15

Subject '', Account: 'Sam RR', Server: 'smtp-server.roadrunner.com',
Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC15

The problem is compounded as when these errors occur, I can no longer use IE
7.0 (get 404 error) or use Yahoo or Mysapce messengers.

The only workaround is to reboot my laptop and start over until the next
occurence which is usually 4-5 times a day.

Someone please help.
