Instead of just cleaning the download folder, we'll try renaming the
softwaredistribution folder -
0x80240017 - -2145124329 - SUS_E_NOT_APPLICABLE
install is not needed because no updates are applicable
To rename the SoftwareDistribution folder
Click Start, Choose Run.
In the Run box, type services.msc.
Click OK.
Right-click the Automatic Updates service.
Click Stop.
Stopping the service will take a moment.
Rename the "SoftwareDistribution" folder:
a. Click Start, click Run, type: %systemroot%
and then click OK.
b. Right-click the SoftwareDistribution folder, and then click Rename.
c. Type SoftwareDistribution.old, and then press ENTER to rename this folder.
Click Start. Choose Run.
In the Run box, type services.msc.
Click OK.
Right-click the Automatic Updates service.
Click Start.
Starting the service will take a moment.
At this point you have now lost the history but that's not important.
You can check what has been installed -
Displays the list of all Windows updates (Service Packs and Hotfixes) installed
on your local computer.

| Finally back. I just finished to try all suggestions from TaurArian but the
| problem persist. I can enter Windows Update's main page with no hazzle, but
| as I click the "Quick" or "Custom" Buttons, the screen says "Searching......"
| and then "error number 0x8024001D.
|
| I also checked for Updates alredy installed and I have around 30 succesfull
| updates and more than 100 unsuccesfull updates. Every one of the unsuccesfull
| ones, shows error number 0x80240017, which means that "install is not needed
| because no updates are applicable". If that's true, why it it just does not
| appear?

| Thanks again Moe, and thanks also to TaurArian.
|
| I had to delay the updating of my pc, because I'm out of the city for two
| weeks. As soon as I come back, I'll try your suggestions. I'll inform the
| results.
