Error number: 0x8024800C HELP!!!!

windows update gives me this error any HELP???

From my experience, this kind of error is to do with any one or combination
of the following:

Need to add the upate site to your trusted sites list in Internet Exploder
Need to allow the site through your software firewall (e.g. zonealarm)
Internet Exploder security settings too high

this is probably not much help, but at least it may help some people!

Another reason I found that this error can happen is:

If you try launching Microsoft Update and you get this error, it can occur
also if your Automatic Updates is currently downloading or installing an
update. So if it is, just wait until the automatic update is finished, then
try to launch Microsoft Update again.
